James has nearly 15 years of experience implementing research and monitoring programs involving wildlife, fisheries, and other natural resources in the Pacific Northwest. Specifically, he has been involved with monitoring, capturing, and conducting telemetry studies of multiple bird species (e.g., Caspian terns and double-crested cormorants in the Columbia Basin). James has several years of experience coordinating remote colony monitoring efforts using GIS and aerial images to estimate colony size and habitat use by numerous waterbird species throughout the Pacific Coast region. Additionally, he has worked with salmonids in the Columbia River, marbled murrelets in the Coastal Ranges of Oregon and Northern California, and was a water resources specialist for the State of Washington.
